For most of my life I have lived in the world of "practical" creativity, as a graphic designer and production manager and designer for magazines in the UK, but where I really thrive is in the world of "spontaneous" creativity, where the boundaries are limitless. Currently I am exploring my relationship with live-edge wood from Vancouver Island. The lines, shapes, colours and textures fascinate me. Some pieces seem to speak in a language I can understand and invite me to come and "play" with them. Each piece has a different story to tell and so in some ways I become the translator of that story. This is the creativity that drives me, keeps me up until silly hours of the night, trying to capture the "story" in all of its glory.
