Dan Walker Designs
Silversmith, designer and engraver, Dan Walker works from his Comox studio where he creates unique, handcrafted jewelry. Custom orders are welcomed.
Many of his designs reflect the moment of water and the vibrant life found on the West Coast.
A recent line of jewelry includes the use of copper sand dollars, starfish and orcas with several wave pattern engravings. These delicate hand engravings are inspired by the beauty of our coast.
Often his designs are a fusion of natural shapes with semi precious stones and he enjoys experimenting with mixed metals.
He discovered his love of silver when he met an old Navaho artist in Canyon de Chelly and watched how he created his jewelry. He attended the Metal Jewelry Design program at NIC. His intensive training with Master Engravers Ray Cover and Diana Scalese raised Dan’s fine engraving skills to another level and he is excited to share many new techniques and ideas in his jewelry designs. Recently he trained with Warren Smith at Coast Handworks, further expanding his fine engraving skills.
He loves to travel and gathers inspiration from nature and other cultures around the world. The temples of Asia provide a multitude of styles of scrollwork design for his engraving.
In the past, Dan expressed his artistic talent by designing and building Hotrods; his current ride is a 1948 Stylemaster.
