Laurie’s artistic intent is to create memorable pieces of jewellery that celebrate individuality through diverse metals and forms. Working primarily with gold-filled, fine silver, sterling silver, copper, jewellers’ gold, and bronze, she frequently mixes these mediums to produce truly unique, one-of-a-kind designs.
Her sources of inspiration are deeply eclectic, ranging from botanical patterns in nature and cultural elements discovered through travel, to research into historical references. Laurie is constantly fueled by exploring new techniques, collaborating with private instructors, and engaging with the creative landscape of fellow artists, magazines, and social media.
Rather than mass-producing or replication, Laurie intentionally crafts one piece at a time. Her work is widely recognized for its distinct style, featuring organic forms and shapes that defy standard classification. For Laurie, the best part of the creative process is the thrill of seeing someone wearing and connecting with a piece she has brought to life.
