Salmon Scoop Glass Bowl
The intention of these pieces, basket, ladle and scoop is to present an object that is holding something much larger than the object itself.
It requires repeated firings, 1st to create the basket weave that will become the container and 2nd the sunrise with copper ravens or the rivers with copper salmon. The third firing combines the two and the fourth is to cause the final shape by heating the cast glass form so that it drops through a refractory hole.
Then the cutting with a diamond saw and polishing the cut edge. Drilling and attaching found wood handles, the final step.
