ENGLISH OAK & WALNUT PHOTO FRAME 5" X 7"
This lovely frame is handcrafted from English Oak and Walnut maple inlay by Robert Jakobsen. It fits a 5" x 7" photos and comes complete with a dowling rod that fits into the back to make either a portrait or landscape shape.
Robert is an artisan native to Nanaimo, British Columbia where he salvages much of the wood used in his work. Logs which are considered to have little market value (e.g. destined for firewood) are milled with a portable band saw mill. Robert works with local woods to illustrate the diversity and beauty of British Columbia's forest resources and the need for more attention to resource management. These frames are finished with three coats of rubbed polyurethane making for a very durable and attractive finish.
