I started my company, Shades of Nature, in 1995 in Nelson, B.C. My idea, at the time, was to incorporate nature into my lampshades. Rice paper proved to be the perfect medium. It took years of trial and error to master my skills.
I taught myself to weld and this gave me the freedom to play with metal forms and designs.
Nature plays an important role in my creations . I pick and press plants, leaves, flowers and grasses that are incorporated into the designs. I often use hand cut wildlife images in my shades. This has been a very well received addition to my line of shades.
I have provided custom lighting in homes, restaurants and condos and frequently work with architects and interior designers. My business is continually evolving as there is always a new shade to design.
Enjoy Shades Of Nature,
