I am inspired by unusual forms and the versatility and playfulness of the medium of clay. I especially enjoy designing the surfaces of my pieces through impressing, carving and transferring designs. The technical and dynamic aspects of atmospheric firing and glazing techniques also inspires my work.
I have a Bachelors of Anthropology from the University of Victoria and a Certificate of Ceramics from Kootenay School of the Arts. I am currently setting up a new studio in Metchosin while also studying glazes at North Island College and teaching clay classes in the Cowichan Valley.
Sarah lives in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island B.C.
