Born and raised on Vancouver Island I've been involved in the arts since childhood and studied everything from painting, pottery, wood carving to photography and finally stained glass.
One summer about 18 years ago, I signed up for a stained glass course in Comox and have never looked back.
The colour, light and textures of glass play so beautifully together making each piece so unique. I\'m never bored with the process of putting a piece together from the original idea, to polishing the finished product. I like to incorporate different objects including feathers, leaves, sea shells, coins, glass beads and most recently acid etching - a technique which keeps the work light yet still allows me to introduce delicate, subtle designs.
My panels range from small hangings, to larger wooden framed pieces and over the years I\'ve done a number of commissioned windows and side lights. Lamps and boxes are favourites as well and I try to keep them functional as well as interesting. My work has been shown and sold at galleries in the Comox Valley, Qualicum and Victoria.
So, after 18 years, my love of glass is still as strong as ever and I'm looking forward to retirement so I can spend even more time with this passion of mine.
