Working primarily in drawing, painting, and mixed media, Joanne focuses on mark-making and personal expression, emphasizing mood and gesture. Joanne is a Victoria based artist who is influenced by her surroundings. She inspired by equally by urban environments and natural phenomena. Street art and graffiti, as well as forest and foggy days are some the things that set “heart a flutter”. Returning to the studio, she uses this as source material for her abstracted works.

Joanne is a graduate from the Vancouver Island School of Art with a Diploma in Fine Art and a background and a degree in Interior Design from the University of Manitoba.
