CATHI JEFFERSON POTTERY

Cathi's career as a potter began under mentor Herman Venema in Matsqui, BC in 1974.She has completed fine arts courses at Kwantlen College and the Fraser Valley College. Cathi has helped to arrange several workshops and activities for the clay community over the years.

These include two traditional Japanese wood-fire kilns in Nanaimo. She is affiliated with the Circle Craft Co-op in Vancouver, the Crafts Asssociation of B.C, The Potters Guild of BC, the S. Vancouver Island Potter\'s Guild and the Fraser Valley Potter\'s Guild. She has been a member of the Fired Up collective since 1996 and co-chair of the triennial Canadian Clay Symposium.

Cathi has taught ceramics at the University Of Victoria, Emily Carr College of Art & Industrial Design,Kootenay School of Art, Medalta in Medicine Hat, North Mount Pleasant in Calgary and at "Series" in Red Deer.She has also given numerous demonstration workshops in BC and several in the U.S. Cathi also has a long exhibition history showing some of her fabulous Salt Fired Pottery.
