Started twenty-nine years ago, Padraig Wool Slippers is still owned and operated by Helen and Jeremy Long. Modeled after a traditional cottage industry, today they employ over twenty skilled local artisans and are involved in all aspects of the business. With the help of her daughter-in-law Rie, Helen spends most of her time between design, training and production management, while Jeremy focuses on the wholesale customers and overseeing the construction of the display units. At one time or another all of the Long family have been involved in the business. Presently their son, Derek, works closely with Helen, bringing her colours to life in the dyeing process. As a company with a strong family history, Padraig Cottage will continue to grow, supporting values of quality, craftsmanship and community spirit.
